Digging a hole

We decided to put our trampoline in the ground. Wade got to play on a tractor for a few days- It was a huge project, but Wade had a grin on his face the whole time. Kenra was Daddy's big helper.
We also moved our shed across the yard. It was so entertaining (and scary) to watch. We are going to put a garden where the shed used to be.
Mission Accomplished!

When we were first married Wade was going to S.L.C.C. where he got his Associates degree. After that he decided he wanted to be an Electrician. It is a four year program where you go to school two nights a week from 7-10. You also have to have 8,000 apprenticeship hours before you can take the Journeyman test. Wade will have his 8,000 in August.
Wade has been going to school since we have been married. It is going to be so awesome to have him home more now. WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU DAD!

Easter weekend

We had a fun Easter filled with several egg hunts (5), lots of friends, family, and food!
Kenra started getting very selective in her egg hunting. At my Grandma's house she would only pick the pink eggs.
Easter Sunday was nice. Miley was pretty ticked part of the day because her Easter dress was so long and puffy that she coundn't crawl in it. It was nice at church though because she couldn't crawl away from us.
Saturday night Kenra was cracking us up. She had so many questions about the Easter Bunny.
Does the Easter Bunny have hands?
Does the Easter Bunny live by Santa?
How tall is the Easter Bunny?
Does the Easter Bunny brush his teeth?
What does his toothbrush look like?
-Based on our answers she probably has a pretty creepy image of what the Easter Bunny looks like.
My aunt has a huge yard and every year she has this massive egg hunt. It always starts out with a tug of war.
Miley loves to play with the eggs. Kenra was so sweet and would help her find them.

I love shopping for Easter dresses.
At my Grandma's house there is always a mad dash out the door (she puts $5.00 in the eggs so you have to be quick.)Our final egg hunt was at Grandma and Grandpa Ashby's house.

Nice girl

I have been trying to teach Kenra that it is important to always be a nice girl because it makes me happy, and it also makes Jesus happy. A few days after we had this little talk we had this conversation:
Kenra- Mom, does Jesus live next door to us?
Me- No, why?
Kenra- How does he know if I'm being nice?
Me- He watches us from Heaven.
Kenra- Then does he tell Santa if we be good?

So we got like 2 inches of snow the other day, and when Keni woke up in the morning she was dieing to go out and play in it. Of course 3 minutes after I got all her snow gear on she had to go to the bathroom!

I was able to go with Kenra's pre-school class to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was fun to see Kenra and the other kids in her class socialize.

Friday night we were sitting around wondering what to do. Kenra suggested that we should go get a treat. She picked some Kit-Kats for her and Miley. They were quiet for a long time. It was nice.

Yesterday was my nephew Will's first birthday. At his party Kenra ate all the frosting off her cake then was complaining that her cake didn't have any frosting on it. My brother-in-law Curtis said, "that's not cake that's crap." Well last night Wade, Keni, and I were talking about our days, and I asked Keni what was something good that happened to her and she said, "I got to play with my cousins at Will's party." Then I asked her about something not good that happened to her, she said, "There was a piece of crap on my plate."

Today Kenra got dressed in her horn corn shirt (unicorn).

When you're talking to Kenra and she says, "Look at my wiener, my wiener hurts," or "I have food on my wiener." She is probably talking about her finger!

Ashby Family Party

Miley got to celebrate her birthday with the whole Ashby family. Wade's sister was able to get their church house so we had a big party in the gym. It was lots of fun. The guys got to play basketball while the girls talked and the kids played. Kenra had so much fun playing with her cousins, and Miley enjoyed scooting around the gym floor. She was like a little mop (yuck).

Keni started ballet classes last week. She was in heaven. I think if there were one thing that Kenra loves more than anything (besides apple juice) it would be dancing. She can't listen to music and not dance. Wade and I were pretty entertained watching her at dance class, she cracks us up!

Birthday Girl

Miley turned one on Jan. 16th. We had a Smiley Miley pajama party. Everyone came in their P.J.'s and we had breakfast for dinner. Wade and the kids made a fort downstairs while we were cooking.
After dinner we played some games then Miley opened presents. She got some fun toys. Her favorite seems to be a little drum, she loves to suck on the drumsticks. After presents Miley got to eat some cake. She loved to rub the frosting around her hands like lotion. I can't believe my baby is already one!
Here is a list of things we LOVE about Miley...

She will smile at anyone who makes eye contact with her
She is a good sleeper
She is content in any situation
She sucks on her sleeve or blanket when she is tired
She doesn't like to sit up or crawl, she would rather hang out on her tummy

Bumper Cars

Wade was driving to work on Wed. morning when the car in front of him slid out of control on black ice. Wade went up on the curb to try to avoid hitting the car but he bumped into it anyway. Wade got out of the car right away because he had a feeling that he would probably get hit again. Sure enough, he got hit two more times! A big Dodge truck hit the back of him, and then a minute later a Durango hit the passenger side door. The car is completely totaled. Thankfully Wade wasn't hurt at all. In fact, I think he found it entertaining. He said it was like watching a "demolition derby."

What happens in Vegas...

On New Years Day we drove down to Las Vegas to stay with some good friends Josh, Tiffany, Skyler, and Dewy Orgill. On the way there we stopped in St. George to visit the Vandermyde's to see their adorable new baby.
We spent 4 days in Vegas, and had so much fun exploring, playing, eating, and covering Kenra's eyes on the strip. We even lost $3.75 gambling.

New Years 2009

We had our annual New Years Eve party at my parents house. We had a cheese, chocolate and steak fondue feast, then we played games, watched T.V., and drank Mountain Dew until midnight. We rang in the new year by making lots of noise, and doing fireworks. Miley was even up at midnight.

Christmas morning was so much fun! Kenra got a new doll house and all the cool accessories. Miley got a bunch of cool toys, but of course she was more into the wrapping paper.
Wade got basket ball and tools for work. I got clothes, gift cards, and my new laptop!

Wade got a Nerf gun set for Christmas from my sister Cami. We were at my parents house when my sweet husband asked Curtis if he would give him 5 bucks if he could hit my forehead. Well, guess what he hit.... my eye! I spent the next 7 hours in great pain with my eyes shut in a dark room. It was a wonderful day!
Notice in the picture that he is wearing the eye protection that came with the gun.

Today Kenra got out of the tub and walked into her room with her towel up around her head and said, "Mom I'm Mary, and you be Joseph Smith". I think she's a little confused!

Grandma's Village

Every year for Christmas Wade's mom puts an awesome village under her Christmas trees. It takes her a long time to put up because she uses real rocks from her yard, and she designs it differently every year. We all look forward to seeing the village, and the kids enjoy playing with it when no one is looking:)

Gingerbread House

Kenra made a cute little gingerbread house at her pre-school party. She was so excited to show me the "decoration" that she made. I was surprised that she didn't want to eat it. After a few days I told her that she should eat it before it gets yucky, so she dug right in.

Progresseve Dinner

We had our annual progressive dinner with my Mom's side of the family. She has a lot of siblings so it is a day long event. This has been one of my favorite Christmas traditions since I was just a little girl. The best part of the day is always at the end when we go to my Grandma Scholte's house for dessert. Every year there is talk throughout the day that Santa might come, and every year since I can remember Santa has made an appearance. It was so much fun to watch Kenra light up as Santa walked through the door. Poor Miley, she just has a hard time sitting on Santa's lap, but she still got some great gifts. Thanks Grandma for a wonderful day!

Santa, Dancer, and Blitzen

We went to a Christmas tree lot that had Santa and two of his reindeer there to visit with the kids. This was such an awesome experience because no one else was there so we had Santa all to ourselves. Santa spent so much time with us telling us all about his reindeer and the North Pole. Did you know that Rudolph's nose is red because he is allergic to Christmas corn? Santa gives him lots of it on Christmas Eve so that it will be so red that it glows! Kenra had so much fun listening to Santa and telling him what she wants for Christmas. She wasn't too fond of the reindeer though. Miley liked the reindeer, but she was afraid of Santa.

Meeting Santa

Tonight we had our ward Christmas party. The activities committee decided to try something new this year. We all gathered outside at a park in our neighborhood and had hot chocolate and donuts. There were also a bunch of fires going so we all stayed warm. We also had a canned food drive to donate food to the Utah Food Bank. It was a lot of fun. The best part was that Santa came and visited with all the kids. He rode up in my dad's Rhino decorated in Christmas lights. Kenra was so excited to talk to him. It was so cute because she when he asked her what she wants for Christmas she seriously recited the letter that we wrote to him about a week ago. Miley also sat on his lap, but she had no clue what was going on.

New Toy

I just got an early Christmas present in the mail--- a new laptop! I thought this would be the perfect time to start a blog. I'm excited because this is also going to double as a scrapbook since I never really get around to scrapbooking.
